Basic BBQ Dry Rub
December 17, 2010
This is the base recipe for all that great American barbecue. Use it to season any foods that you would enjoy with BBQ sauce. It also makes a great gift for the grilling fanatics in your life. I like to pack mine in mason jars with a cute label that Melissa designed.
Ingredients:
* ¼ cup of firmly packed brown sugar
* ¼ cup of sweet paprika
*3 tablespoons of cracked black pepper
*1 tablespoon of gray salt
*1 tablespoon of kosher salt
*1 tablespoon of Old Bay Seasoning
*1 tablespoon dried basil
*1 teaspoon of garlic powder
*2 teaspoons of dehydrated onion
*1 teaspoon of celery seeds
*1 teaspoon of sesame seeds
*1 teaspoon of dill seed
* ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
Directions:
Add each ingredient to a large mixing bowl. It is important to mix each ingredient as you add them.
Store the rub in an airtight jar away from heat and light.
This dry rub has a shelf life of 6 months.
I guarantee that once you try it, it will never last that long.
